In Biblical Greek it is associated with Orcus, the infernal regions, a dark and dismal place in the very depths of the earth, the common receptacle of disembodied spirits. Usually Hades is just the abode of the wicked, Lu 16:23; Re 20:13,14; a very uncomfortable place. TDNT.
HADES - TUONELA
'Hades' kuuluu kreikkalaiseen mytologiaan samoin kuin 'Tuonela' kuuluu suomalaiseen mytologiaan. Suomenkielisissä Raamatuissa, jopa Raamattu Kansalle-käännöksessä (jonka pitäisi olla nykysuomea), sana 'hades' on käännetty sanalla 'Tuonela', vaikka parempi käännös voisi olla vaikka 'hauta'. Hades on VT:n 'Sheol', kuolleitten leposija maan alla, paikka jossa kuolleet Raamatun ilmoituksen mukaan 'nukkuvat' 'eivätkä tiedä mitään'. Tässä kuvassa on litteä maa, aivan kuten Raamattu sen ilmoittaa:
Raamatun mukaan ihminen on kuolevainen. Jeesuskin kuoli - virta pois kokonaan. Jumala herätti Jeesuksen kuolleista, (nekros). JUMALA YKSIN on kuolematon (1Tim.6:16), eikä Jeesus ole Jumala. Ylösnousemuksen jälkeen on ihminenkin kuolematon - aivan kuten Jeesuskin on.
